NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Bulldogs look to extend their win streak and build off an Ivy League season-opening victory with road match-ups at Columbia and Cornell this weekend.

Yale won at Brown in a dramatic 3-2 victory last Friday in the conference opener for both teams.  With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 9-1 overall and extended their win streak to seven.

Audrey Leak was named Ivy League Player of the Week on Monday.  The junior had a team-high 17 kills, including the first two points of the fifth set and hit .394 for the match with three blocks.

Mila Yarich had 14 kills, 14 digs and a team-best four blocks against the Bears.  Yarich leads the team with 134 kills and a 3.53 kills per set average.

Cara Shultz continues to impress at the service line.  Shultz entered the week tied for seventh in the nation with 30 service aces.  As a team, the Bulldogs rank 14th in the country and average 2.03 aces per set.

Maile Somera had 23 digs at Brown and entered the week averaging 4.09 per set. Yarich (2.82), Shultz (2.73) and Carly Diehl (2.11) also average over two digs per set.

The Bulldogs have also held opponents to a .184 hitting percentage through the first 10 matches.  In the blocking department, Leak (23 blocks) and Fatima Samb (20) have led the team.

Scouting Columbia
The Lions (3-7, 0-1 Ivy) enter the week off a loss at Cornell in the Ivy opener for both teams.  Columbia ranks third in the conference with 66 blocks, with Saj McBurrows leading the team with 23.  Pierce Woodall leads the Lions with a 2.41 kills per set average.  The two teams will play again in New Haven on Oct. 29.

Scouting Cornell
The Big Red entered the weekend 3-7 overall and 1-0 in league play.  Cornell snapped a six-match losing streak with a victory over Columbia last weekend.  The Big Red is one of two schools in the conference to have more than one student-athlete in the top-10 in hitting percentage -- Sammie Engle ranks third (.356) and sophomore Camryn Carlo (.324) is sixth.  Yale will host Cornell on Oct. 28.
