San Diego, Calif. – Yale volleyball kicked off its road trip to San Diego with a match against the University of San Diego on Thursday night. After dropping the first two sets, the Bulldogs rallied to win the third before ultimately falling in four sets. The set scores were 16–25, 20–25, 25–18, and 21–25.
With the loss, Yale dropped to 2–4 on the season, while San Diego improved to 6–3.

Yale's San Diego-area natives made their mark in the match. Ava Poinsett led the Bulldogs with 16 kills, Cam Bolane recorded a career-high three kills, and Yuri Park added two service aces.

Libero Arya Jue matched her career high with 20 digs across four sets.

The Bulldogs outperformed the Toreros from the service line, tallying seven aces to San Diego's three.
