Summer Sailing

Sailing Monday, June 16 - Friday, August 8th

The Yale Summer Sailing Program is a great way for kids and adults to get out and enjoy the beauty of a Long Island Sound summer, and the excitement of sailing. We are located in Branford, Connecticut at the Yale Corinthian Yacht Club (YCYC) -- one of the best venues for college sailing on the East Coast.

Youth Sailing Lessons (ages 9-17) -- FULL

  • Forms: Medical, Sailing Waiver

  • YCYC offers two, three week sessions for youth sailors of all levels (sailors must turn 9 years old by June 16, 2025). Session 1 is from June 16- July 3, and Session 2 is from July 7 – July 25.

  • Beginner and Intermediate classes are from 9am-12pm, M-F, available in 3 week session segments.

  • Advanced classes are from 1pm-4pm, M-F, also in 3 week session segments.

Adult Sailing Group Lessons (18+) -- TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE

  • Adults can sign up for Adult Sailing Group Lessons, available on select summer weekends
    Class size is limited so sailors get quality lesson time with the instructors.

Note: Adult Group Lessons are only available on certain weekends- not every weekend Individual Membership
 

Individual Membership -- TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE

  • Individual Membership is offered to adult sailors who are at an intermediate level and above. Individuals can bring 1 guest with them (or sail by themselves) and use the YCYC boats and facilities.

  • Member Sailing hours are 1pm-7pm, M-F, and 10am-5pm on weekends.

*To be eligible for a membership, you must demonstrate your sailing skills to a YCYC instructor*

Family Membership -- TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE

  • Family membership is offered to adult sailors and their children who are at an intermediate level and above. Families can rig multiple boats and use the YCYC facilities.

  • Member Sailing hours are 1pm-7pm, M-F, and 10am-5pm on weekends.

*To be eligible for a membership, you must demonstrate your sailing skills to a YCYC instructor*

The Boats
YCYC has a full fleet of e420 sail boats for sailors and members to use and enjoy!

Our Facility
Sailors and members have access to the boats, indoor locker rooms with bathrooms and showers, outdoor showers, picnic benches and docks. YCYC is located on the water in the beautiful village of Short Beach in Branford, CT. Perfectly situated, sailors enjoy sheltered Granite Bay and access to Long Island Sound.

Tuesday Night Racing!
Members and advanced youth sailors are encouraged to attend our weekly race series! Come race every Tuesday night (weather permitting). Rig up at 5:15pm, first whistle is at 6:00pm! We race until sunset.

All Short Beach Neighbors and Yale Affiliates get 20% off membership, youth lessons, and adult group lessons. (Note that the 20% off does not apply to private lessons)
