NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale women's fencing team concluded a successful senior day with dominant performances over Sacred Heart and Vassar on Saturday at Payne Whitney Gymnasium.Â
The Bulldogs opened the day with a matchup against the Pioneers. The hosts swept all three disciplines in a 22-5 rout.
Michelle Lee,
Amanda O'Donnell, and
Alexandra Drovetsky competed for Yale in the epee, winning 8-1.Â
In saber, the trio of
Sydney Hirsch,
Stephanie Cao, and
Cassie Wu were able to prevail 5-4. The Bulldogs dominated in foil, as
Kristina Petrova,
Annie Lin, and
Erica Hooshi swept the Pioneers 9-0.
Following the first match, the Bulldogs put together an even more impressive showing, defeating Vassar 27-0 to wrap up a 2-0 day.
After the second match concluded, Yale recognized its seniors for their contributions to the program throughout the last several years.
