CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Yale women's swimming and diving team completed a perfect regular season by winning the annual HYP meet. The Bulldogs beat Princeton 155.5-144.4 and topped Harvard 210-90.
Yale finishes with a 9-0 dual meet record, including 7-0 against Ivy competition.
The Bulldogs have now swept the HYP meet in six of the last seven seasons. Over the span, Yale has posted a 73-2 dual meet record.
Yale entered Sunday trailing Princeton by one point, but several strong performances pushed the Bulldogs past the Tigers.
Ava Franks was a double winner, capturing the 200 IM in 2:01.37 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:13.82. Yale had the top two finishers in the 200 breaststroke as
Olivia Paoletti placed second in 2:14.25.
In the 500 freestyle,
Lilly Derivaux won with a time of 4:48.69.
Alex Massey, who won the 200 butterfly on Saturday, added a second victory by capturing the 100 butterfly in 53.69.
Yale's 400 freestyle relay team of
Ophelia Pilkinton, Vivian Weng, Caroline McCurdy and
Raime Jones won with a time of 3:18.33.
In the 1-meter diving,
Lily Horenkamp placed second with a score of 285.60, while
Paige Lai was third (275.75).
Next up for the Bulldogs is the Ivy League Championship which is set for Feb. 15-18 at Princeton.
