NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Bulldogs go for their 14th straight win as they host Brown to open the second half of the Ivy League season on Friday night. Â The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the John J. Lee Amphitheater.
This will mark the second meeting of the two teams this season. Â Yale won at Brown in five sets on Sept. 23. Â
Last weekend, the Bulldogs swept both Princeton and Penn at home to claim the top spot in the Ivy League standings. Â Entering the weekend, the Bulldogs stand at 15-1 overall, 7-0 in Ivy play and have a national RPI of 38 out of 344 schools.Â
Audrey Leak and
Gigi Barr both had standout performances last weekend and earned spots on the Ivy League weekly honor roll. Â Both Leak and Barr averaged over three kills a set and hit over. 300 in six sets.
Yale also impressed on defense. Â The Bulldogs held Princeton and Penn to a combined .021 hitting percentage, and also held a 83-67 edge in digs.
Leak had 17 kills in the first meeting against Brown, and
Mila Yarich had 14 kills and 14 digs in the victory. Â In addition,
Cara Shultz had 15 kills and nine digs, while
Maile Somera had a team-high 23 digs.Â
Yale continues to rank high in numerous statistical categories on the national scene. Â

Scouting Brown
The Bears defeated Penn and lost to Princeton last weekend. Â Brown enters the weekend 5-2 in Ivy League play. Beau Vanderlaan sits on top of the league in three different statistical categories. Vanderlaan leads the league in hitting percentage (.459), blocks per set (1.36) and points per set (4.22). Â Vanderlaan had a match-high 17 kills in the loss to Yale last month.Â
