Bulldogs Serve Up Win Over Hartford

Yale Hit .333 for the Match -- Its Second-Highest Percentage of the Season

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Bulldogs served up 13 aces, the highest total for an Ivy League team this season, and closed out 2015 with a 3-0 win at Hartford on Tuesday evening.

It was the highest team mark for aces since the Bulldogs had 12 in a win over Dartmouth on Nov. 10, 2012.

The scores of the match were 25-5, 25-13 and 25-18.  The Bulldogs closed out the season with a 15-9 overall record and won their final four matches.  Hartford fell to 2-27. 

Kelsey Crawford posted five aces, a season-high mark for an Ivy Leaguer in a three-set match, and Kaitlyn Gibbons had four.   Crawford added 24 assists and five digs, while Gibbons had five kills and five digs.  

Eleven different Bulldogs had at least one kill and Megan Rasmussen had a match-high eight, and freshman Gray Malias had a season-high seven.  

Yale hit .333 for the match, its second-highest percentage of the season.  The Bulldogs hit .374 in a win over Penn on Nov. 7.  

Rasmussen started a 15-0 run to wrap up the first set with a kill.  Crawford served the final 15 points with three aces.  On the final point of the frame, Kate Aitkenhead and Malias combined on a block.  

Aitkenhead added her first two collegiate kills in the match. 

In her final match as captain, Karlee Fuller had six kills and seven digs.
