NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale track and field team wrapped up the Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championships on Sunday at the Cuyler Athletic Complex and Dwyer Track with a fifth-place overall finish – an impressive improvement from the team's eighth-place result last year. On the final day the Bulldogs scored in several events, adding to a season marked by multiple school records and numerous Top 10 all-time marks. Full results can be found here.

The Bulldogs:
  • First-year Zoe Martonfi kicked off the scoring for Yale on the final day of competition, placing sixth in the 3,000m steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:40.08.
  • In the 100m dash, sophomore Juliette Kosmont secured a fourth-place finish with a time of 11.60 seconds, aided by a 2.8 m/s tailwind.
  • Yale had a standout showing in the 800m, where sophomore Victoria Guerrier and senior Iris Bergman claimed second and third place, respectively, combining for 14 points. Guerrier crossed the line in 2:04.82, followed closely by Bergman at 2:05.70.
  • In the 5,000m, junior Claire Archer added four points to the team total with a fourth-place finish in 16:34.96.

  • Yale's 4x100m relay team – composed of sophomore Lucija Grd, senior Dominique Romain, junior Molly Harding and sophomore Sophie Spokes – finished fourth overall with a time of 46.15 seconds.
  • The 4x400m relay team of seniors Peyton Parker and Bridget Vitu, along with both Guerrier twins, earned a second-place finish in 3:40.56.
  • In the 4x800m relay, the squad of sophomore Kalista Villatoro, first-year Sylvie Sanok Dufallo, junior Linde Fonville and Bergman added to the team's relay efforts with a strong showing.
  • Rounding out the weekend, junior Makayla White set a new school record in the heptathlon, finishing seventh overall with 4,772 points.

Up Next:
  • With the Ivy League Championships now complete, a few Yale athletes still have opportunities to solidify their spots for NCAA Regionals. Two final meets are on the schedule for those on the qualification bubble: the UMass Last Chance meet on Thursday and the Princeton Elite meet next Saturday in New Jersey.
  • Following these competitions, qualified athletes will advance to the NCAA East First Round, held in Jacksonville, Fla., on May 29 and 31. To earn a berth, athletes must rank among the top 48 in their event within the eastern region.
