ARLINGTON, Texas – The Yale softball team battled through a tough opening day at the Boerner Invitational at Allan Saxe Field, falling in both games. The Bulldogs dropped a 12-0 decision to North Texas in the morning before a late rally fell short in a 9-5 loss to UT Arlington in the afternoon.
With the losses, Yale moves to 0-3 on the season, while North Texas improves to 9-2 and UT Arlington to 5-7.
Game 1: North Texas 12, Yale 0
- After two scoreless innings, North Texas erupted for a 10-run third inning to take control.
- The Mean Green tacked on two more in the fourth, triggering the run rule to end the game.
Game 2: UT Arlington 9, Yale 5
