Bulldogs Travel to Penn, Princeton

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's basketball team plays a pair of Ivy League road games this weekend. The Bulldogs visit Penn Friday (6:00 p.m., ESPN+, International Stream, Live Stats, Tickets) and Princeton Saturday (5:00 p.m., ESPN+, International Stream, Live Stats, Tickets). 
 
Last Weekend
Yale (2-19, 1-7 Ivy League) lost to Cornell 57-40 this past Saturday. Senior guard/forward Mackenzie Egger (Mount Pleasant, Mich.) led Yale with nine points and seven rebounds.
 
Thybulle Enjoying Career-Best Year
Senior forward Grace Thybulle (Irvington, N.Y.) is on pace for career highs in multiple categories:
  • Points per game (7.0; previous high 6.7 2023-24)
  • Rebounds per game (4.6; previous high 3.9 2023-24)
  • Assists per game (1.9; previous high 0.3 2022-23 and 2023-24)
 
Egger Racks Up Double-Doubles
Senior guard/forward Mackenzie Egger (Mount Pleasant, Mich.) has seven double-doubles this season. She narrowly missed an eighth the last time Yale played Penn, finishing with 24 points and nine rebounds Feb. 1. That was the second time she finished a game one rebound shy of a double-double – she had 25 points and nine rebounds Nov. 4 vs. Monmouth.
 
Chapman on the Boards
With 37 rebounds in the last seven games – an average of 5.3 per game – first-year guard Marisa Chapman (Middletown, N.Y.) has moved into second on the team in rebounding. For the season she averages 5.1 rebounds per game, trailing only senior guard/forward Mackenzie Egger (Mount Pleasant, Mich.) (9.5).

Capstraw Back Home
Junior guard Kiley Capstraw (West Orange, N.J.) is the lone Bulldog from New Jersey. She was a four-year captain and four-time first team all-conference selection at West Orange High School. Capstraw has started all 21 games for Yale this season, and 48 straight games dating back to last season. She is averaging 5.7 points per game.

Penn (11-10, 2-6 Ivy League) has lost four of its last five, but the lone win in that stretch was an 80-60 win over the Bulldogs Feb. 1. The Quakers feature two of the Ivy League's top three rebounders in Stina Almqvist and Katie Collins. They are both averaging 7.3 rebounds per game, trailing only Yale senior guard/forward Mackenzie Egger (Mount Pleasant, Mich.) (9.5 rebounds per game).
 
Scouting Princeton
Princeton (16-5, 7-1 Ivy League), which hosts Brown Friday, enters the weekend one game behind first-place Columbia in the Ivy League standings. The Tigers have won four in a row, including a 74-38 victory over the Bulldogs Jan. 31.
