NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Lauren Perren played hero in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Yale softball team to an 8-6 victory over Fairfield at 5K Corral Field. The Bulldogs improved to 3-14 overall, while the Stags fell to 2-12.

Scoring Summary
- T1 | Fairfield picked up three runs to open the scoring.
- B2 | Back-to-back walks gave Yale its first two baserunners of the game. With two outs, Mady Smith knocked a single to left field that scored a run.
- T4 | Fourth inning action saw the Stags cross home three more times and led by five.
- B6 | Yale inched forward in the sixth. With two outs and one on, Carolyn Skotz knocked in a run before Sam Goodcase blasted a two-run home run in the next at bat to put the Bulldogs within two. Â
- B7 | Libby Peoples and Sophie Woodridge picked up hits in back-to-back at bats to put a runner in scoring position. A groundout scored Peoples from third but put the Bulldogs in a two-out situation down by two runs. Perren came in to pinch hit and worked the pitcher to a full count. With the game on the line, Perren knocked a walk-off homer to left field that lifted the Bulldogs to victory over the Stags.
