A rivalry series is on deck for the Yale softball team as they embark on a three-game road trip to Boston this weekend to face Harvard. The Bulldogs are sitting third in the Ivy League standings just behind the Crimson, who are in second place.
Scouting Yale
- The Bulldogs are 15-15 overall and 7-5 in Ivy League play so far this season.
- The squad are winners of four of their last five games including three wins in conference play.Â
- Lauren Perren has hits in four-straight games. Over that four-game span, she has two multi-hit games and is batting .461. Perren leads the Ivy in RBIs with 23 and is second in home runs with five.
- Willa Ferrer leads the squad in batting average (.329) and slugging percentage (.573).
- Libby Peoples has been the extra-base-hit phenom of the Bulldogs' roster. The first year has a team-leading 10 doubles (tied for second in the Ivy) and first on the team and in the conference in triples with three this season.
- Emma Taylor has been solid in the circle for Yale. The first year has six wins and is sixth in the conference in strikeouts with 50 so far.

Last Year Against Harvard
- Harvard took two of the three games in last year's series by narrow margins.
- The Crimson won game one, 3-1, and game two, 1-0. Yale followed that up with a 4-3 victory.
Scouting Harvard
- The Crimson are 18-12-1 overall and 9-3 in the Ivy League.
- Allison Heffley is one of the offensive leaders on the Harvard squad with a .394 batting average, a team-leading 39 hits, and 17 RBI.
- Lauren Bobowski is another player to watch for the Crimson with a .323 batting average, 30 hits, and 22 runs scored.
- Two pitchers in Harvard's bullpen have logged 60 or more innings pitched. Riley Flynn and Anna Reed have both picked up five wins each in the circle this season. Flynn is third in the conference in strikeouts with 66, while Reed is fifth with 52, just two ahead of Yale's Taylor.

Ivy League Honors
- Emma Taylor earned her first set of major weekly awards after being named Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Monday, April 10.
- Taylor picked up a 2-1 complete game victory against Penn. The first year struck out three batters and allowed just one run. It was her fifth win of the season.Â
- Maddie Latta, Nicole Conway, and Lauren Perren were named to the weekly honor roll.
Looking Ahead
Yale returns to 5K Corral Field at DeWitt Family Stadium on Wednesday, April 19 for a doubleheader against Sacred Heart.
