To the West Coast they go! The Yale softball team caps its spring training trips in the Golden State for a five-game stint. The Bulldogs will play a pair of games each against both Western Carolina and Michigan State before rounding out the trip against San Diego. Live stats will be available for all five games as well as video streaming on YouTube.
 
Recapping Last Week
  • Yale went 2-3 in its trip to The Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Fla. last weekend.
  • In 13 at bats, Willa Ferrer picked up five hits, including a home run, three RBI and two runs.
  • Carolyn Skotz's bat was hot as she went 6-for-12 at the plate, with two doubles, and four runs. Skotz also picked up six walks.
  • In 16 innings pitched, Emma Taylor picked up two wins in the circle, the first two of her collegiate career with Yale.
 
Last Time Out     
  • Yale fell to Hofstra, 6-5, to finish out their trip in the Sunshine State on March 5.
  • Ava Kang went two-for-three with a RBI and a stolen base.
  • Willa Ferrer went two-for-four with three RBI, and one run scored.
  • Maddie Latta had two hits in three at bats, including a double and a triple, and one RBI.
  • Carmen Muscolina went two-for-three at the plate

Looking at the Stats
  • Willa Ferrer has had a solid start to the season thus far. Ferrer is riding a three-game hit streak. The junior has a .381 batting average and .667 slugging percentage.
  • Lauren Perren has enjoyed a nice start to the season. She is hitting .300 and leads the team in RBI with seven.
  • Carolyn Skotz is another one to watch this weekend for Yale. The captain is hitting .333, and has a team-high 10 hits and four doubles.

What's to Come
This was the last of Yale's . When the Bulldogs return to the east, they will dive right into Ivy play with a series on the road at Princeton from March 18-19.
