NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's ice hockey team took care of business in the opening round of the Nutmeg Classic, routing Sacred Heart 10-0. The Bulldogs bested their in-state opponents in the first semifinal matchup of the afternoon at Ingalls Rink thanks to a six-point performance from sophomore
Gracie Gilkyson.
With the win, Yale improves to 6-5 overall this season. They will play the winner of Quinnipiac and UConn on Saturday evening in the championship game. Action is set to begin at 6 p.m. following the consolation matchup between Sacred Heart and the loser of the aforementioned game.

- P1, 9:29 | GOAL! After Gilkyson forced a turnover near center ice, the defender skated into the attacking area and delivered a cross-ice pass to Stainton. The first year glided into the slot and after a quick deke, found the back of the net with a backhanded shot.
- P1, 18:50 | GOAL! The Bulldogs' first line came up big near the end of the opening stanza. After Elle Hartje dug the puck out from the boards, she passed to Stainton who somehow found DiAntonio with a no-look dish. DiAntonio finished the smooth play with an easy wrister to extend the Bulldogs' lead.
- P2, 13:58 | GOAL! Anja Trummer got into the goal column with a beautiful backhander to increase the Bulldogs lead.
- P2, 17:14 | GOAL! Vita Poniatovskaia got in on the action, scoring off an assist from Gilkyson.

- P3, 6:49 | GOAL! The Bulldogs increased its advantage to 6-0 after Stephanie Stainton sent home a rebound shot for her second goal of the game.

- P3, 13:19 | GOAL! On the power play, Ellie Reiter found the back of the net for her first goal of the season and the Bulldogs' eighth of the game.
