NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's tennis team opened the season with a pair of home victories last weekend, blanking both Buffalo and Temple. The Bulldogs now face their first road matches on a trip to the Midwest. Yale meets Butler on Friday at 2 p.m. and has a Saturday morning date with Indiana at 11 a.m.

Yale dropped only three sets in singles in the first two matches last weekend. Michael Sun, who is No. 69 in the ITA singles rankings, was dominant at the No. 1 position, cruising to victory in both his matches. Theo Dean also posted a pair of impressive wins.

Butler is playing its fifth match of the spring. The Bulldogs have won their last two, 4-3 over Lipscomb and 5-2 over Cleveland State.

Indiana is 2-0 after victories over Toledo, 6-1, and Bellarmine, 7-0, on Jan. 22.

Yale is right back home following the trip, hosting St. John's on Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. and Boston University on Feb. 13 at 11 a.m.
