Li Elected 2025-26 Captain

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Eduardo Ugalde, Interim Head Coach of Men's Tennis has announced that junior Eric Li will serve as captain for the Bulldogs next season.

"I am very excited about Eric taking on the role of captain next year, said Ugalde. "He is a very hard working and committed individual, and he will lead the team under those values. Eric has had massive development on and off the court during his time at Yale; I am eager to see him take on this new challenge and help others develop to their potential."

This season, Li picked up nine wins in singles and 10 in doubles. He also earned a thrilling three-set victory to highlight day two action at the ITA East Sectional Championships back in November. Additionally in 2023-24, he had an impressive 21-9 singles record, including a 4-2 mark in Ivy action.

Li has also distinguished himself academically, earning CSC Academic All-District honors. A two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, he is majoring in economics.

"It's an incredible honor to have been voted captain, said Li. "Previous captains have made a significant impact on me both on and off the court, and I'm excited to have the opportunity to step into this role. We have ambitious goals for this year, and I'm looking forward to accepting the challenge and seeing just how far we can go as a team."
