Yale Hosts Brown Monday

UPDATED FAN ATTENDANCE POLICY FOR YALE COMMUNITY THROUGH FEB. 21

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Looking for its third win in four Ivy League games, The Yale women's basketball team hosts Brown on Monday (1:00 p.m., NESN, ESPN+, Live Stats).

Last Game
Yale (9-6, 2-1 Ivy League) jumped out to a 17-5 lead after the first quarter and never looked back Saturday at Cornell, cruising to a 62-44 win. Senior forward Alex Cade (Shaker Heights, Ohio) led the Bulldogs in scoring with 14 points, while sophomore guard Jenna Clark (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had 11 assists. Combined with a 74-67 win at Cornell Feb. 1, 2020, Yale has now won back-to-back games in Ithaca for the first time since 2012-13.

Defense Dominates
The 44 points Yale allowed Saturday at Cornell was the second-lowest point total of the year for a Bulldog opponent. The Big Red's .294 shooting percentage was the third-lowest shooting percentage for a Bulldog opponent. Yale held Cornell's leading scorer, forward Theresa Grace Mbanefo, to six points – less than half of her average coming into the game (12.3 points per game).

Lonely at the Top
Sophomore guard Jenna Clark (Pittsburgh, Pa.) now has the three highest single-game assist totals in the Ivy League this season: 11 in Saturday's 62-44 win at Cornell; 10 in the 80-73 win vs. Harvard Jan. 8; and nine at St. John's Nov. 21.

Helping Hands
Saturday marked the second straight game in which Yale achieved a new season high in assists. After reaching the 19 assist mark in an 80-73 win vs. Harvard Jan. 8, the Bulldogs got to 20 assists in Saturday's 62-44 win at Cornell. Their previous high was 18 in the game at Fairfield Nov. 28.

The "Home" Stretch
Monday's game vs. Brown marks the start of a stretch of three home games in seven days for Yale. The Bulldogs played three home games in the 58 days from Nov. 19 through Jan. 16, and after Jan. 23 they will play just three more home games in the rest of the regular season (41 days).

MLK Day Games Highlight New-Look Ivy Schedule
Monday's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day game is one of the key elements of the new Ivy League schedule format. Starting this year the conference season has moved from an eight-week to a 10 week schedule. It consists of six one-opponent weekends and three of the league's signature Friday and Saturday back-to-back weekends. Each team will also have a contest on MLK Day. This season, Yale hosts Brown while Columbia hosts Cornell, Penn hosts Princeton and Dartmouth hosts Harvard.

Scouting Brown
Brown (5-10, 0-3 Ivy League) has been outscored by an average of more than 30 points in dropping its first three Ivy games of the season. The Bears are in their second season under head coach Monique LeBlanc, who led Merrimack to a pair of 20 win seasons prior to being hired at Brown.
