NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's basketball team wraps up 2021 Tuesday night, hosting Army West Point (5:00 p.m., NESN, ESPN+, Live Stats). The Bulldogs are coming off a 13 day break.
 
Last Game
Yale (6-5, 0-0 Ivy League) battled back from a 19 point deficit Dec. 14 at Drexel, taking the lead in dramatic fashion heading into the fourth quarter. But the Dragons answered with a comeback of their own late in the game, using a 7-0 run to take a 53-49 lead with 2:28 to play. After sophomore guard Jenna Clark (Pittsburgh, Pa.) hit her fourth three-pointer of the night and got the Bulldogs within one, Drexel scored the game's final six points to salt away a 59-52 win.
 
Defense Comes Up Big
Yale leads the Ivy League in scoring defense (57.0 points allowed per game). The Bulldogs have improved that number by 8% from the previous season, 2019-20, when they allowed 62.1 points per game. 
 
Helping Hands
Yale had 16 assists in its last game, tied for the second-most by the team in a game this season. The Bulldogs have had 15 or more assists in four of their last seven games, including a high of 18 in the game at Fairfield Nov. 28.
 
Ball Control
Yale had just 10 turnovers in its last game. That was the Bulldogs' second-best turnover total of the season. They had a low of nine turnovers at Sacred Heart Nov. 17.
 
Rebounding Streak Snapped
Yale had outrebounded its opponents in every game this season until the most recent one, at Drexel. During the streak of 10 games in which Yale outrebounded its opponents, the Bulldogs had a high margin of 12 (twice).
 
Scoring Depth
Seven different Bulldogs have scored 11 points or more in a game at least once this season. Junior forward Camilla Emsbo (Lakewood, Colo.) has the highest point total of any Yale player – 26, against Sacred Heart Nov. 17 and Fairfield Nov. 28. That is the seventh-highest point total by anyone in the Ivy League this season. She has a string of 12 straight games scoring in double digits dating back to the final game of the 2019-20 season.
 
Bulldogs Among National Leaders
Junior forward Camilla Emsbo (Lakewood, Colo.) is seventh in the nation in double-doubles with seven, three behind the national leader (Baylor's NaLyssa Smith). She is 19th in the nation and first in the Ivy League in blocks (26). Sophomore guard Jenna Clark (Pittsburgh, Pa.) is 25th in the nation and second in the Ivy League in assists (63).
 
Scouting Army West Point
Army West Point (5-3, 0-0 Patriot League) has won five of its last six, scoring at least 73 points in each of those wins. The Black Knights rank 15th nationally in offensive rebounds per game (16.1) and lead the Patriot League in rebounds per game (41.38).
