Best Start in History
With the win vs. Brown, Yale improved to 11-3 -- the best record after 14 games in school history. The only other Yale squad to get to 10-3 was the 1976-77 team, which lost its next game to drop to 10-4 before finishing the season 15-5.
Streaking
Yale has won five in a row, the team's longest streak since winning five in a row Dec. 8 through Dec. 29, 2018.
Barahman Ivy League Player of the Week
Senior guard
Roxy Barahman (Calabasas, Calif.) was named Ivy League Player of the Week on Monday. She had eight steals in Yale's 79-72 win vs. Brown last Friday, the second-most by any Ivy League player this season. That included one with 47 seconds left that helped protect what was a four-point lead. She finished with 17 points and five assists.
Barahman is the third different Bulldog to earn a weekly award from the Ivy League this season. Sophomore forward
Camilla Emsbo (Lakewood, Colo.) has been named Player of the Week twice, and junior guard
Ellen Margaret Andrews (Dallas, Texas) has earned the award once.
Poll Position
Yale is one of three Ivy League teams ranked in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25 poll. The Bulldogs are at No. 17, while Princeton is at No. 3 and Penn is at No. 15. Columbia and Harvard are among the 19 other teams also receiving votes in the poll.
On the Road Again
Yale plays its next five games on the road. The Bulldogs are 4-2 in road games (and 1-0 in neutral site games) this season. Starting with an 82-72 upset win at TCU Nov. 19, 2017, Yale is 21-16 in road games in the last two+ years.
Atop the Ivy League
Yale leads the Ivy League in offense, averaging 74.5 points per game -- 3.4 more than any other team. The Bulldogs also lead the league in three-point field goal percentage (.349).
Scouting Brown
Brown (6-8, 0-1 Ivy League) has gone 1-3 at home this season, but has won three straight against Yale at Pizzitola Sports Center. Guard Justine Gaziano is second in the Ivy League in scoring (16.5 points per game). She scored 12 against the Bulldogs last Friday but was limited to seven shots, tied for her second-lowest total of the season.
