Yale

Michel Gusmano started as the RN Coordinator of Athletic Medicine at Yale in 2000. Prior to coming to Yale, Gusmano spent 11 years as a surgical intensive care nurse in the Veterans Administration medical system caring for patients with traumatic injury, open heart/cardiac surgeries, oncology, and orthopedic injuries. Gusmano also has extensive experience in primary care, having served as a visiting nurse throughout New Haven County.

Gusmano was born and raised in New Haven and received her BSN degree in 1989 from the University Of Bridgeport School of Nursing.

Gusmano prides herself on taking the time to know the athletes and strives to advocate and care for them on all levels.

A huge Bulldogs supporter, when she’s not working, Gusmano and her family can often be seen in the stands or on the sidelines throughout the year.

Gusmano currently resides in Orange with her husband, two children and three Labrador retrievers.
