Laura Broderick joined the Yale staff as an assistant coach for men's and women's track and field and cross country in the summer of 2024. In 2025 she was selected for the 54th class of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy (WCA), a multi-day experience focused on leadership development and personal growth for women coaches from all sports and collegiate levels. She was one of 85 coaches nationwide who were selected.
In Broderick's first cross country season at Yale, the Yale men finished fifth and the Yale women finished 11th at NCAA Regionals. The men had three all-region honorees and the women had one. Both teams earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team recognition, and four Bulldogs were honored individually as USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes. In track and field, Yale set nine school records indoors and eight school records outdoors. The Bulldogs had four men and four women compete at the NCAA First Round East meet.

Broderick came to Yale after spending one season at Rochester, where she had recently moved into the role of women’s cross country and track and field distance coach. During her year at Rochester, the Yellowjackets sent male and female individual qualifiers to the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships. She assumed primary responsibility for coaching the team’s distance runners during the 2024 track season, and coached Sennett Turner to the Liberty League title and a school record in the women’s 10,000 meters.Â

Prior to her stint at Rochester Broderick spent two years as a graduate assistant coach for the women’s track and field and cross country teams at Smith College, where she worked alongside Jaworski. She helped coach the cross country team to back-to-back appearances at the NCAA Division III Championships. Her time also saw five Pioneers earn USTFCCCA All-Mideast Region recognition, two make appearances at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships and one earn NEWMAC Rookie of the Year. She and Jaworski helped Smith earn the conference Coaching Staff of the Year Award in 2022.Â

A 2018 graduate of Scripps College, Broderick was a cross country and track and field distance runner for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps program for four seasons. She was an All-West Region runner and two-time All-Conference honoree in cross country and helped the Athenas finish 13th (in her sophomore year) and 15th (in her junior year) at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships.
