Claire Shimchak joined the Yale Athletics Medicine staff in August 2023 as an assistant athletic trainer. She provides primary coverage of the men’s and women’s cross country and track & field teams.
Prior to Yale, Shimchak worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Nicholls State University where she covered women’s volleyball, cross country and track & field. She also served as Outreach Athletic Trainer at Irmo High School, a position which included hospital duties such as working in an orthopedic clinic and wellness program.
Shimchak graduated in 2020 from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in athletic training. She earned her master’s degree in higher education administration from Nicholls State in 2023. A native of New Jersey, Shimchak currently lives in Norwalk, Conn.
