Ann-Marie Guglieri

Ann-Marie Guglieri joined the Yale athletic department on July 1, 2018 and was promoted to Executive Deputy Director/Chief Operating Officer of Athletics four years later. She serves as the lead on the workflow strategy and organization of all areas of the Athletics department. This includes overseeing all organizational functions and day-to-day operations in addition to working with the senior staff to set and meet objectives. Guglieri represents the department in the absence of the athletic director.
 
Guglieri has direct oversight of the department’s finance office, Sports Innovation & Performance area, the compliance office, human resources, and capital projects and facilities. In addition, she is the sport supervisor for football including oversight of the program’s schedule, women’s basketball, heavyweight crew and softball.

Prior to joining Yale, Guglieri served as Chief of Staff & Senior Associate Director of Athletics at Colgate University for ten years. While at Colgate, Guglieri oversaw construction of over $43M of capital projects that were completed on time and on budget including a state-of-the-art ice hockey arena, a soccer and lacrosse complex, a football locker room and meeting space project, and a new academic services center.  While at Colgate, Guglieri also oversaw all internal operations of the department, including oversight of its operating budget. In addition, throughout her tenure she served as the sport supervisor for a variety of sports including football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s rowing, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, field hockey, volleyball, women’s lacrosse, and softball.   

Guglieri first arrived at Colgate as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Compliance Officer. She was then promoted to Associate Director of Athletics in 2011, Sr. Associate Director of Athletics/SWA in 2012 and finally Chief of Staff in 2016. 

Nationally, Guglieri chaired the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee in 2013 and 2014. In 2014, Guglieri received the Nell Jackson Administrator of the Year Award from Women Leaders in College Sports, in recognition of outstanding achievements and success working in collegiate athletics.  She has spoken nationally at different conventions such as NACDA and Women Leaders in College Sports.

Before coming to Colgate, Guglieri was the Assistant to Varsity Sports at Dartmouth College.

A 2004 graduate of Syracuse University, Guglieri was a three-year starter on the Orange field hockey team. In September 2024, Guglieri was honored as a LetterWinner of Distinction, one of the highest honors that Syracuse University Athletics and the Varsity Club given to former student-athletes and teams. Guglieri was just the second Syracuse field hockey player to be lauded with this honor.

In May 2006, Guglieri earned her master’s degree in education with a concentration in athletic administration at Springfield College. While earning her master’s, Guglieri served as an assistant coach for the field hockey team in the 2004 and 2005 seasons and helped the team to conference championships both years. In October 2013, Guglieri was inducted into Carmel (N.Y.) High School Athletic Hall of Fame.Â
