Archer, Fitzgibbon and Guerrier Compete at Princeton Elite

PRINCETON, N.J. – A trio of athletes from the Yale women's track and field team competed at the Princeton Elite meet Saturday in New Jersey. The meet provided a chance to chase PRs and improve times with NCAA First Round East selections coming up this week.
 
The Bulldogs:
  • Sophomore Gloria Guerrier placed second overall (and was the top collegiate finisher) in the 400m with a time of 54.19, a PR that ranks third on Yale's all-time list. 
  • Guerrier returned later to place first in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.63. She currently holds the 50th best time in the East, 59.02 from the Wake Forest Invitational.
  • Junior Carmel Fitzgibbon competed in the 800m, finishing in 2:09.14. Fitzgibbon currently has the No. 34 time in the East, 2:04.49 from the Sam Howell Invitational.
  • Junior Claire Archer achieved a PR by more than seven seconds in the 5000m, finishing in 16:21.04. She was fourth. Her performance moves her into eighth on Yale's all-time list.
