NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale softball team swept Sacred Heart in a doubleheader at 5K Corral Field, winning 7-3 and 9-4. The Bulldogs improved to 17-16 overall, while the Pioneers dropped to 16-15.
Game 1: Yale 7, Sacred Heart 3
- B1 | Katie Donahey's two-out double down the right-field line put Yale on the board early. (Yale 1, SHU 0)
- B2 | Yale extended its lead in the second inning with an RBI single from Alex Perren. (Yale 2, SHU 0)
- B3 | The Bulldogs struck again in the third as Grace Westmoreland's single brought home Sophie Woodridge. (Yale 3, SHU 0)
- B4 | Yale kept the momentum going in the fourth. Isabella Fortini drove in a run, followed by a successful double steal to make it 5-0. Later in the inning, Fortini stole home to extend the lead to six. (Yale 6, SHU 0)
- T5 | Sacred Heart got on the board with a run on a passed ball. (Yale 6, SHU 1)
- B6 | Westmoreland delivered a two-out RBI single to push Yale's lead back to six. (Yale 7, SHU 1)
- T7 | The Pioneers added two runs on back-to-back walks, closing the gap to four, but the Bulldogs shut down the final batter to secure the win.

Game 2: Yale 9, Sacred Heart 4
- B1 | Yale's first three batters reached base to kick off the scoring. With the bases loaded, Maddie Latta ripped a two-run double. Later in the inning, in another bases-loaded situation, Katie Donahey singled to center, bringing in two more runs. (Yale 4, SHU 0)
- B2 | Ella Gandolfo reached base after being hit by a pitch. Sophie Woodridge followed with a double down the left-field line, scoring Gandolfo from first. (Yale 5, SHU 0)
- B4 | Latta came up big again in the fourth, launching a three-run home run to extend the lead to eight. (Yale 8, SHU 0)
- T5 | Sacred Heart got on the board with an RBI single to right field from Allie Ortiz. (Yale 8, SHU 1)
- T6 | The Pioneers added two runs in the sixth on a pair of two-out hits, cutting the deficit to five. (Yale 8, SHU 3)
- B6 | Westmoreland answered for Yale with an RBI single. (Yale 9, SHU 3)
- T7 | Sacred Heart attempted a late push, scoring one more run on a single to center, but the Bulldogs closed out the game to complete the sweep. (Yale 9, SHU 4)
