NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale softball team opened the 2025 Bulldog Invitational with two victories at 5K Corral Field at DeWitt Family Stadium. The Bulldogs defeated the University of Maine, 6-2, in their first game of the day, then closed out the day with a 10-2 win over Central Connecticut State University. Yale improved to 4-8 on the season, while Maine dropped to 2-13 and CCSU fell to 2-11.

Notable Performances
- Ella Cross went 6-for-7 on the day, including a triple, a walk, five runs, three RBI, and a stolen base. It was her first career triple and the team's first of the season.
- Grace Westmoreland went 3-for-6, including two doubles, with three RBI and two runs.
- Emma Taylor earned the game one victory in the circle for her third win of the season.
- Caitlyn LaFerney picked up the game two victory for her first collegiate win.
Game 1: Yale 6, Maine 2
- T2 | Maine got on the board with a two-run home run in the second inning. (MAI 2, YAL 0)
- B3 | Yale answered in the third. Grace Westmoreland led off with a double to right-center, advanced to third, and scored on an infield single to cut Maine's lead in half. (MAI 2, YAL 1)

Game 2: Yale 10, Central Connecticut 2
- T3 | After two scoreless innings, the Blue Devils scored first with a solo home run. (CCSU 1, YAL 0)
- B3 | A pair of singles, each driving in two runs from Lauren Perren and Sophie Woodridge, made it 4-1 Bulldogs heading into the fourth. (YAL 4, CCSU 1)
- B4 | Ella Cross continued her big day with a triple, extending Yale's lead to four. In the following play, Cross and Katie Donahey executed a double steal, making it 6-1. (YAL 6, CCSU 1)
