ORLANDO, Fla. — The Yale women's track and field team kicked off the outdoor season with a solid performance at the Black and Gold Invitational on Friday, hosted by UCF. Following a week of training in warm conditions, the Bulldogs capitalized on the strong competition, posting solid results as they gear up for a promising and exciting season ahead.

The Bulldogs:
- Captain and senior Dominique Romain achieved a personal milestone in the long jump, finishing sixth overall with a 6.00m leap – her first time surpassing the 6-meter mark.
- In her first time competing in the collegiate hammer throw, first year Hannah Graham launched a 45.23m toss, while senior Makayla Harris followed with a throw of 41.25m.
- Harris later returned for the shot put, where she led the Bulldogs with a throw of 13.08m, just 0.03m shy of her personal best. First year Anna Siciliano closely trailed with a mark of 13.00m, while sophomore Emma Peretti added a 12.49m throw in the same event.
- Junior Makayla White made her javelin debut with a throw of 30.66m, while first year Alyssa Anderson posted a 29.08m mark. White also ran the 200m in 26.00 seconds, while Anderson came back later to jump 5.00m in the long jump.
- Senior Bridget Vitu led the Bulldogs in the 200m, posting a time of 25.79 seconds.
- Sophomore Gloria Guerrier finished eighth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:00.56, while first year Squirrel Lanz (1:03.33) and senior Peyton Parker (1:04.88) also competed in the event.
- Junior Charlotte Whitehurst took first in her heat of the 1500m, setting a personal record of 4:31.13 – nearly 7 seconds faster than her previous best.

- The Bulldogs will return on Saturday for the second day of the Black and Gold Invitational. The field events, including the discus, high jump, and triple jump, will begin at 10:00 a.m., while the women's track events will start with the 100m hurdles prelims at 11:25 a.m.
