NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior
Max Imhoff drove in six runs over the course of a doubleheader to lead the Yale baseball team to a Saturday sweep of the Virginia Military Institute (VMI). The Bulldogs topped the Keydets 11-6 in game one and followed up with a 6-2 win in game two.
The Bulldogs' pitching staff held the nation's top offense to eight runs over two games. Yale improved to 10-3 overall with the wins. VMI fell to 13-6 overall.
Game 1 – Yale 11, VMI 6
Key Performers
- Starting pitcher Colton Shaw earned the victory, tossing 5.0 innings while allowing only one earned run. He struck out seven and walked three.
- Imhoff went 2-for-4 with four runs batted in.
