Late 9-0 Run Seals 17-8 Win at No. 25 UConn

STORRS, Conn. – On Wednesday at Morrone Stadium against No. 25 UConn, for the first time since the first game of the season, the No. 4 Yale women's lacrosse team found itself leading by only one goal in the second half. A 4-1 Huskies run that started with 61 seconds left in the second quarter turned a 7-3 Yale lead into an 8-7 Yale lead at 10:04 of the third – and UConn twice got the ball with a chance to tie. But the Yale defense held firm, and a goal by senior midfielder Sky Carrasquillo with 5:51 left in the third sparked a 9-0 Bulldog run that would put the game out of reach. Yale remained unbeaten, and the Bulldogs still have not trailed in any game this season. The final score was 17-8.

Yale (7-0, 1-0 Ivy League) was led by six goals from senior attacker Jenna Collignon, though the Bulldogs' final eight goals came from other sources while Collignon was faceguarded. UConn (5-3, 0-0 Big East) got four goals from attacker Rayea Davis.
