NEW YORK – The Yale women's basketball team could not overcome a big early lead for Columbia Saturday afternoon, falling to the Lions 77-49. With the win, Columbia celebrated back-to-back-to-back Ivy League titles, clinching at least a share of this year's crown. The Lions entered the day one game ahead of second-place Princeton.
Columbia (21-5, 12-1 Ivy League) scored the first seven points of the game. The Bulldogs regrouped and got within 9-6 on baskets by junior guard

Avery Lee, but the Lions then went on an 8-0 run. Columbia led 18-10 after the first quarter.
Columbia opened the second quarter with a 9-2 run and led by as many as 23 before Yale (4-22, 3-10 Ivy League) chipped away at the deficit to get within 42-23 at halftime. Columbia then closed out the game by outscoring Yale 35-26 in the second half.
STATISTICAL LEADERS
- Senior guard/forward Mackenzie Egger led Yale with 15 points.
- Egger and first-year guard Marisa Chapman tied for the team lead in rebounds with five each.
- Egger and junior guard Kiley Capstraw tied for the team lead in assists with three.

- Yale had a season-low eight turnovers.
- First-year guard Marisa Chapman scored 13 points, the most she has scored in a game since scoring 17 in the season-opening win vs. Monmouth Nov. 4. She added five rebounds.
- Columbia's Cecelia Collins had a triple-double – 16 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds.
