Bulldogs Break Two Records in Boston

BOSTON — Multiple members of the Yale women's track and field team took part in Harvard's unscored Crimson Elite meet in Boston Friday. The day was marked by a pair of new school records in the 60m and 60m hurdles, both set by sophomores.

The Bulldogs:

  • Sophomore Lucija Grd placed fifth in the 60m hurdles prelims with a time of 8.60 seconds, then set a new personal and school record in the finals with a 8.54 second finish to take fifth.

  • Sophomore Juliette Kosmont finished third in the 60m prelims, winning her heat with a time of 7.51 seconds and breaking the school record by 0.01 seconds. She improved on her own record in the finals, taking fourth with a time of 7.49 seconds.

  • Senior Makayla Harris placed eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 17.68m (approximately 58 feet).

  • Captain and senior Dominique Romain finished fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.90m. She also ran a 7.62-second time in the 60m, earning second place in her heat.

Up next:
  • The Bulldogs will remain busy in Boston this weekend. On Saturday, multiple members of the team will compete at Boston University's Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invite. Running events begin at 11:00 a.m., with field events starting at 11:30 a.m.
