No. 4 Bulldogs Take On Rutgers at Reese Saturday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 4 Yale women's lacrosse team hosts Rutgers Saturday at 3:30 p.m. (ESPN+, International Stream, Live Stats). The game is the second game of a doubleheader; the Yale men's lacrosse team hosts Penn State at 12:00 p.m.

  • Yale leads the nation in draw control percentage (.691) and is second in the nation in scoring defense (4.50). 
  • Yale's 15 game home winning streak is the fourth-longest active home winning streak in the nation, trailing only No. 18 James Madison (23), No. 15 Loyola Maryland (21) and No. 8 Stanford (16).
  • Yale's four opponents so far this season are 10-2 against other teams, an .833 winning percentage. Only No. 2 North Carolina (.857), Stetson (.857) and No. 10 Virginia (.846) have a better opponents' winning percentage.  
  • Senior midfielder Fallon Vaughn (Concord, Mass.) was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week on Monday
  • Yale is off to a 4-0 start this season. Last season the Bulldogs started 9-0 before suffering their first loss. That tied for the longest winning streak to start a season in school history – the 1995 team also started 9-0.
  • Yale is in the midst of a stretch of five straight games against unranked opponents. In an eight-game stretch starting Mar. 12 at No. 23 UConn, the Bulldogs will face six teams that are currently ranked.

  • Yale won the last meeting between these teams, 14-8 last season in Piscataway.
  • Prior to last year, the teams had not met since 2005 – a 10-7 Scarlet Knights win in New Haven.
  • The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 10-6.
 
The Scarlet Knights
  • Rutgers (3-1, 0-0 Big Ten) has won three in a row since dropping the season opener 10-9 at Army.
  • Goalkeeper Lexie Coldiron is fourth nationally in save percentage (.578). The Bulldogs have already beaten the goalie ranked right behind her in fifth, Michigan's Erin O'Grady.
