NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Two members of the Yale women's cross country team have been honored by the Ivy League. Senior Claire Archer (Seattle, Wash.) has earned first team All-Ivy League and Academic All-Ivy League recognition. Senior Charlotte Whitehurst (Annapolis, Md.) has earned second team All-Ivy League recognition. The league announced the honors Wednesday.
 
Archer earned first team All-Ivy recognition for her fourth-place finish at the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships this past Friday in the Bronx. Her time of 21:01.9 ranks second on the school Heps record list for Van Cortlandt Park, trailing only the time of 20:45.6 that Kayley DeLay '21 MPH '23 ran in 2019. This was Archer's second straight fourth-place finish at Heps.
 
In addition to Heps, this season Archer was also Yale's top finisher at the Princeton Fall Classic (17th overall) and at the Iona Meet of Champions (11th overall). In 2024 she earned All-Region honors, placing 12th at the NCAA Northeast Regional. She was also first team All-Ivy League and earned Yale's Most Valuable Performer/Runner Award.
 
An economics major, Archer has earned multiple academic honors in her career. She was a CSC Academic All-District for cross country/track and field in 2024-25 and was a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete for cross country 2024.
 
Archer is a graduate of Roosevelt High School.
 
Whitehurst earned second team All-Ivy recognition for finishing 10th (21:36.7) at Heps. That represented a massive improvement on her 2024 Heps finish (30th) and continues the upward trajectory she has been on all season. She was Yale's top finisher at the Lehigh Paul Short Run and the team's No. 2 finisher at the Iona Meet of Champions and the Princeton Fall Classic.
 
Whitehurst is a graduate of Phillips Andover.
