NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Team 152 improved to 2-0 on the season with a thrilling 41-24 victory over the Cornell Big Red at the Yale Bowl last week. The Bulldogs are now preparing to go on the road to play No. 8 Lehigh (5-0). Kickoff is scheduled for noon.

What's New
  • The Ivy League named Inumidun Ayo-Durojaiye the conference's Defensive Player of the Week after a performance against Cornell where he racked up a career-high 17 total tackles, the most by a Yale defender since Foye Oluokun had 16 against Colgate in 2014.
  • Josh Pitsenberger recorded his second straight game with three rushing touchdowns, finishing with 142 yards on 28 carries. His three scores moved him past Dick Jauron and into a tie for fifth on Yale's career rushing touchdowns list with Zane Dudek (28).
  • Pitsenberger also moved into ninth on Yale's career rushing yards list, now with 2,133 yards in 27 career games.
  • Noah Piper's 50-yard field goal against Cornell is tied for the third-longest in Yale history, and the longest made by a Bulldog since Tom Mante hit a 54-yarder against Cornell on Sept. 26, 2009.
  • The Yale defense forced five turnovers for the first time since 2012.
  • After defeating Cornell, Yale received votes in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll for the second-straight week. Harvard and Dartmouth were the two other Ivy League teams to receive votes.
The Series
  • Yale has faced off against the Mountain Hawks 13 times since 2000, hanging onto an 8-5 record in those games. Yale is 4-3 at Lehigh's Goodman Stadium since 2000, winning its last three games there in 2015, 2017 and 2021.
  • Lehigh is one of Yale's oldest opponents, first meeting in 1890, when the Bulldogs took down the then-named Engineers 26-0.
  • This matchup will be the first time since 1975 when both Yale and its third opponent of the season are undefeated going into their matchup. That season, both Yale and Brown were 2-0 before playing each other.
The Last Matchup
  • In 2024, the Bulldogs defeated Lehigh 38-23 at the Yale Bowl. The Yale defense forced four turnovers (three interceptions, one fumble recovery) in the victory.
Scouting Lehigh
  • The Mountain Hawks were picked first in the 2025 Patriot League Preseason Poll, earning 13 of 16 first-place votes. Lehigh has lived up to its preseason billing, starting the season with five-straight wins, including a 44-30 victory against Ivy League opponent Penn this past week, bumping the Mountain Hawks up to No. 8 in the most recent AFCA FCS Coaches Poll.
  • Lehigh is off to its first 5-0 start since 2012, when the team began the year 9-0 before finishing 10-1. The team is looking to win back-to-back Patriot League titles for the first time since 2016 and 2017.
  • The Mountain Hawk offense is led by sophomore quarterback Hayden Johnson, who currently has 898 passing yards and nine passing touchdowns on the season on top of 101 rushing yards. Johnson's favorite receiver is Geoffrey Jamiel, who currently has 32 catches for 457 yards and three touchdowns in 2025.
  • The team's backfield is headlined by the one-two punch of Luke Yoder and Jaden Green, who have combined for 1,036 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns in five games. Lehigh is currently fourth in the country in rushing offense, with 247.6 yards per game this season.
  • The Lehigh defense is led by linebacker Brycen Edwards, who currently leads the team with 36 total tackles (25 solo, 11 assisted). Defensive back Mekhai Smith is the only Mountain Hawk to have an interception this season, but he has recorded four in five games.
