NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale softball squad took down Cornell in the first of a three-game series, 4-2, at 5K Corral Field. Yale moved to 12-20 overall and 7-3 in the Ivy League, while the Big Red fell to 4-17 overall and 2-5 in the Ivy.

Scoring Summary
- B1 | Three-straight walks loaded the bases for the Bulldogs with no outs. Lauren Perren knocked a 3-0 double to left center that emptied the tank and scored all three runners.
- B5 | Sophie Woodridge knocked a two-out double to left center for Yale's first runner of the inning. In the next at bat, Carmen Muscolina knocked in Woodridge with a RBI single to center field.
- T6 | Cornell's response came in the next inning with a two-run home run to cut the Bulldogs' lead in half.
- In the final inning, Emma Taylor threw seven pitches to four batters to help shut down the Big Red.
