Bulldogs Blank Dartmouth 4-0

HANOVER, N.H.Elle Hartje scored her 50th career goal, Pia Dukaric recorded her 50th collegiate victory in goal and the Yale women's ice hockey team downed Dartmouth 4-0 on Friday evening at Thompson Arena. The Bulldogs showcased a complete effort to win its second straight conference shutout.

Yale improves to 13-12-1 overall with a 10-8-1 ECAC mark. With three regular season games remaining, the Bulldogs sit in sixth place in the conference standings. 

"We had an effective start and scoring early on our chances was the key tonight," said Mark Bolding, Susan Cavanaugh Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "I liked our attention to detail tonight and that is how we need to play heading into the playoffs."

Scoring Summary
  • P1, 2:50 | GOAL! Jordan Ray forced a turnover in the attacking area. She then found Hartje on a centering pass who made a nice deke to fool the Dartmouth goaltender. Hartje converted on the shot for the Bulldogs' first goal.
  • P1, 6:13 | GOAL! The Bulldogs forced another turnover, and this time Stephanie Stainton found a cutting Carina DiAntonio who tipped in the puck to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.
  • P1, 16:19 | GOAL! Emma Harvey delivered a beautiful stretch pass past the blue line to Mariya Rauf. Rauf patiently turned and found Naomi Boucher in front of the net, who easily put in the wrister to extend the Bulldogs' lead once again.
  • P3, 11:59 | GOAL! Following a faceoff in the attacking area, the Big Green turn it over in front of their own net. Anna Bargman capitalized on the mistake, sending home a wrist shot.
Game Notes
  • Yale completed the two-game season sweep over Dartmouth, outscoring the Big Green 12-0.
  • The Bulldogs picked up their second consecutive shutout after defeating Union 4-0 last weekend. 
  • Hartje scored her 10th goal of the season, 50th of her career, and leads the team with 31 points. She now has 159 career points, just five away from tying the all-time program record.
  • Bargman now has seven career goals against Dartmouth and has scored at least one point in every game against the Big Green.
  • DiAntonio scored her eighth goal of the season and Boucher added her third.
  • Dukaric recorded her 50th career victory and fifth shutout of the season.
