NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Facing a large halftime deficit, the Yale women's basketball team kept battling to the end Sunday afternoon against BU at John J. Lee Amphitheater. The Bulldogs made the fourth quarter their best quarter of the day, outscoring the Terriers 18-9 in that frame. Senior guard/forward
Mackenzie Egger wound up with a double-double, 25 points and 11 rebounds. But that was not enough to overcome that early deficit, which was as large as 32 points, and BU came away with a 77-56 win.
Yale (1-12, 0-0 Ivy League) was hurt early on by a 10-0 BU scoring run in the second quarter that turned a 35-13 Terrier lead into a 45-13 Terrier lead. The Bulldogs trailed 50-20 at halftime, but wound up outscoring BU 36-27 in the second half.
