Carina DiAntonio scored a pair of goals with less than two minutes remaining in regulation to lead the Yale women's ice hockey team to a 3-1 win over the University of Connecticut on Friday night in the opening round of the Nutmeg Classic. The Bulldogs will play Quinnipiac in the championship game on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Martire Family Arena, hosted by Sacred Heart.
With the win, Yale improved to 6-5-1 overall. UConn dropped to 9-8.

Game Notes
- The Bulldogs will rematch Quinnipiac in the Nutmeg Classic finals. The Bobcats defeated Yale last season in the championship game.
- Yale has won two straight over UConn. The Bulldogs last played the Huskies in 2019, winning that matchup 6-2.
- DiAntonio scored her fifth and sixth goals of the season. She has had multiple goals in consecutive games for the second time in her collegiate career. The junior has recorded at least one point in six straight games.
- Rauf tallied her third score of the season.
- Yale goaltender Pia Dukaric stopped 17 shots in net for the Bulldogs. UConn goalie Tia Chan made 35 saves.
