NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- For the second straight day, the Yale women's hockey team played into overtime. But unlike Friday's game, the Bulldogs could not net the game-winner, resulting in a 1-1 tie with Princeton. Fresh off an overtime victory against Quinnipiac, Yale nearly secured the two-game winning streak, but could not deliver the decisive blow against the No. 12 Tigers.
The Bulldogs picked up their first tie of the season and their overall record stands at 11-11-1 with a 8-7-1 ECAC mark. Princeton earned its fifth draw and sports a 21-7-5 overall record, and are 5-7-5 in conference play.
"I thought our defense and Pia played very well today and it was an intense battle as we expected it would be with Princeton," said
Mark Bolding, Susan Cavanaugh Head Coach of Women's Hockey. "Boucher had a great response, driving hard to the net on our goal when Suzy picked up the loose change to tie things up. Excellent penalty kill in overtime as well, which was very critical for us."
