HANOVER, N.H. – Yale's travel heavy non-conference schedule is paying dividends now that Ivy League play is under way. The Bulldogs went into Dartmouth's Leede Arena and smothered the Big Green in a 76-51 victory to improve to 3-0 in league play. Two of the wins have come away from home.
Yale (12-6 overall) has won five straight games overall and six of its last seven. Thirteen of the Bulldogs 18 games this season have been played away from home.
STATISTICAL LEADERS
Danny Wolf scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the way. With a big second-half lead, his services were only needed for 28 minutes. Wolf was 8-of-13 from the field and added two assists and four steals.
Matt Knowling (7-of-9, 16 points) and
Bez Mbeng (6-of-9, 14 points) also had strong shooting games.
John Poulakidas added 12 points, and
Nick Townsend contributed five points and four rebounds off the bench.
Dusan Neskovic was Dartmouth's only double figure scorer, finishing with 11 points.
TURNING POINT
Yale scored the final six points of the first half to take a 10-point advantage, 38-28, at the break. The run continued into the second half as the Bulldogs scored the first five points. By the first media timeout, Yale was in front 54-32. The lead grew to 32, 66-34, with eight minutes remaining.
KEY STATS
The Bulldogs held Dartmouth to 29 percent from the field. The Big Green made only 15 field goals in the game. Yale also had a big edge on the boards, outrebounding Dartmouth 42-30.

"This is always a tough place to play," said
James Jones, The Joel E. Smilow, Class of 1954 Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "I thought our defense was stellar. Our guys did a good job of not giving up easy shots as we did in the last game. That's the takeaway and hopefully something we can build on."

• Wolf has now posted double-doubles in each of his last four games. He has seven double-doubles on the season.
• Mbeng had six rebounds, three assists and three steals to go along with his 14 points.
• Poulakidas was 3-of-6 from three-point range. He has made 10 treys in his last two games.
• The Bulldogs outscored Dartmouth 50-16 in the paint.
• Yale shot 59 percent (26-of-44) from the field on two-point attempts.
• The Bulldogs have won nine straight games at Leede Arena.

Yale is back on the road next Saturday, playing at Harvard in a 2 p.m. tip at Lavietes Pavilion. Yale then has three straight games in the friendly confines of Lee Amphitheater, starting on Feb. 2 vs. Princeton.
