NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Maddie Latta called game in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Yale softball team defeated Penn, 1-0, to complete the series sweep at 5K Corral Field at DeWitt Family Stadium. The Bulldogs are now 14-15 overall and 7-5 in the Ivy League, while the Quakers fell to 3-30 overall and 1-11 in the conference.

How It Happened
- Yale's Nicole Conway and Penn's Kelly Zybura faced off in a pitching duel over the course of seven firm innings that saw both teams scatter a combined nine hits.
- Conway was tremendous in the circle for the Bulldogs, collecting five strikeouts.
- The seventh inning saw all the game's major offensive action. Sophie Woodridge hit a lead-off single through the left side followed by a Carmen Muscolina infield single. This put runners in scoring position for Maddie Latta.
- With a 3-1 count, Latta ripped a tight shot down the left field line that tipped off the glove of Penn's third baseman, rolling into the outfield. Woodridge put the wheels on and motored home from second for the walk-off victory.

- This was Conway's first shutout of the season, and the second of her career.
