NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's tennis team begins Ivy League play this weekend with a pair of matches. The Bulldogs host Harvard on Friday at 3 p.m. Weather permitting, the match will be played on the outdoor courts. Yale then has an Easter Sunday date at Dartmouth at 1 p.m.

The Crimson, No. 15 in this week's ITA national computer rankings, provide a stiff opening test. Yale, though, enters the Ivy season playing its best tennis of the season. The Bulldogs have won three straight matches – 6-1 at Cal Poly, 5-2 at Santa Clara and 4-0 over St. John's. That has Yale at No. 71 in the rankings. The Bulldogs are 10-5 overall this spring.

The Ivy League is again very strong. Four other schools join the Bulldogs and Crimson in the national rankings – Columbia (No. 11), Cornell (No. 30), Princeton (No. 50) and Penn (No. 52).

Harvard (13-5) opened Ivy play last weekend with a 6-1 victory over Dartmouth. The Crimson's most impressive win is a 5-2 victory over then No. 21 Northwestern back in early February.

Dartmouth (10-9) plays at Brown on Friday before hosting the Bulldogs.
