BOSTON, Mass. – The Yale softball team fell to Harvard in a pair of games, 5-4 and 5-0, at Soldiers Field. The losses put the Bulldogs at 15-17 overall and 7-7 in the Ivy League, while the Crimson improved to 21-11-1 overall and 12-3 in the conference.
Game 1: Harvard 5, Yale 4
- T3 | SJ Mull hit a 3-2 single up the middle for Yale's first baserunner. Libby Peoples would then reach base after working the count in her favor. With two outs, Willa Ferrer scored Mull on a single to center field.
- T4 | The Bulldogs were on the attack once again in the bottom of the third. Grayson Vives hit a first pitch infield single before Carmen Muscolina knocked home Vives with big time single up the middle. Yale scored in the next at bat to take a three-run lead.
- B4 | Harvard found a groove in the bottom half of the inning and notched three runs to tie it. They capped the inning with a single and the go-ahead run.
- T6 | Grayson Vives battled through an eight-pitch at bat to earn the walk in the lead-off spot. Sam Goodcase took her opportunity at the plate and knocked a RBI double to left center that brought Vives around the bases to tie it.
- B7 | Harvard walked it off with a one-out double.
Game 2: Harvard 5, Yale 0
- Harvard scored five runs on four hits in the middle frames of the game to complete the shutout.
