Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey | | Colleen Murphy

Bulldogs Blank Clarkson for 13th-Straight Victory

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – It was a special day at Ingalls Rink as the Yale women's hockey team celebrated former Yale women's hockey player, Mandi Schwartz '10, as well as alumnae who returned to New Haven for the weekend. The No. 2 Bulldogs took down Clarkson, 2-0, and improved to 21-1-1 overall and 14-1-1 in the ECAC, while the Golden Knights fell to 21-7-2 overall and 10-5-1 in the conference.

How It Happened

  • Yale got on the scoresheet at the 4:47 mark of the first period as Naomi Boucher found Vita Poniatovskaia breaking through the middle of the zone for Poniatovskaia to rip into the back of the net.
  • Phenomenal passing from Elle Hartje and Charlotte Welch led to an Emma Seitz goal at the 10:32 mark of the second period. Hartje cycled a pass down to Welch, who made a heads-up pass to Seitz on the doorstep that extended Yale's lead to two goals.
  • The Bulldogs sealed their victory at the 18:14 mark of the third period. After winning the puck battle in the corner, Seitz fed the puck up to Hartje, who crossed a pass over to Claire Dalton for the empty netter.

Notes

  • Pia Dukaric made a career-high 40 saves en route to her seventh shutout of the season.
  • Charlotte Welch and Elle Hartje both extended their point streaks to nine games.
  • Claire Dalton kept her streak alive, notching her ninth point in five-consecutive games.
