NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's and women's fencing teams made the most of their only home meet of the season, sweeping Sacred Heart. The men posted a 19-8 victory, while the women won 20-7.
In the men's match, the Bulldogs took all nine bouts in the epee and captured foil 6-3.
Yale's men improved to 7-6 on the season and are ranked No. 9 in the nation.
The women's team, ranked No. 8, are now 15-2 on the season. Against Sacred Heart, the Bulldogs won all nine foil bouts and won epee 8-1.
Following the matches, Yale honored its seven seniors.
The Bulldogs are right back in action on Sunday, competing in the Tri-State Shark Showcase in Brooklyn, N.Y.
