NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Bulldogs hit .407 as a team and swept Columbia on Friday night for their eighth straight victory. The scores of the match were 25-11, 25-17 and 25-19.
With the win, Yale improved to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in the Ivy League.
Audrey Leak, the reigning Ivy League Player of the Week, led a balanced attack for Yale with 12 kills.
Gigi Barr added 10 and
Cara Shultz had nine.
Fresh off a road win last week at Brown, the Bulldogs cruised to a first set victory and hit .593 with 18 kills.
Fatima Samb had three of her five kills in the first frame and hit .714 with three blocks.
In an efficient offensive attack, the Bulldogs hit .500 in the second. Yale ran off six straight points to take a 13-5 lead capped by a
Carly Diehl ace and
Mila Yarich solo block.
Diehl finished with 35 assists, four kills on six attacks with a block and an ace.
The Bulldogs return to action tomorrow at Cornell. The match is set for 5 p.m. in Ithaca.
