Bulldogs Fall to No. 9 Princeton

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – No. 9 Princeton got goals from six different players en route to topping Yale 6-1 in field hockey Friday night at Johnson Field. Senior midfielder Théodora Dillman scored the Bulldogs' goal.

Princeton (6-4, 2-0 Ivy League) capped the first half by scoring with just eight seconds left in the second quarter, taking a 3-0 lead into the break. The Tigers extended the lead to 4-0 before Dillman broke up the shutout at 43:34, driving home a shot on a penalty corner after sophomore forward Ellie Barlow inserted to the stick stopper, senior back Katie Pieterse

Dillman now has goals in three straight games, including the game-winner in overtime a week ago at Brown in the Ivy League opener.

The Tigers tacked on two more goals in the fourth quarter for the 6-1 final. Junior goalkeeper Luanna Summer finished with seven saves.

This was just Yale's fourth loss in its last 17 home games.

Yale (5-4, 1-1 Ivy League) hosts Quinnipiac Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
