Hague Homers in Loss to Brown on Sunday

Bulldogs fall to 7-5 in Ivy League play

WEST HAVEN, Conn. -- Teddy Hague homered and Mason LaPlante had two hits in a 4-3 loss to Brown on Sunday afternoon.

Yale dropped to 16-11 overall and 7-5 in Ivy League play.

The Bulldogs led 2-0 after three innings.  Yale scored first in the second.

Jake Gehri led off the second with a walk and advanced to second on a sac bunt by Colton Shaw.  Gehri eventually scored on a double by Mason LaPlante, who went 2 for 4 in the game.

Hague homered to lead off the third.   Brown scored two in the fifth and another run in the sixth to take the lead.  

Yale tied the game in the seventh.  Alec Atkinson led off the inning and was hit by a pitch.  Jeff Pierantoni dropped a bunt single and Atkinson advanced to third on the play.  LaPlante grounded out to third and scored Atkinson.  

Brown scored a run in the ninth to retake the lead and held on for the victory.

Colton Shaw started, allowed three runs over six innings and struck out five.  

Up next, the Bulldogs play at Quinnipiac on Wednesday.  First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
