Ivy League Play Starts Saturday at Dartmouth

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Off to a 3-0 start, the Yale women's lacrosse team now takes aim at the Ivy League opener Saturday at Dartmouth (12:00 p.m., ESPN+, Live Stats). A win would give the Bulldogs their first 4-0 start since 2018.
 
Last Game
Yale (3-0, 0-0 Ivy League) held off an upstart Quinnipiac squad 13-12 at Reese Stadium Tuesday. The Bobcats trailed 11-4 midway through the third quarter but rallied to tie the game 12-12 in the fourth quarter before senior attacker Olivia Markert (Centreville, Va.) scored the game-winning goal with 3:38 to play. She finished with seven goals and an assist.
 
New Kids Making Impact
Eight of the 12 players who have scored goals for Yale this season had never scored a collegiate goal prior to this season. They are:  
Hard to Cover
Senior attacker Olivia Markert (Centreville, Va.) had 13 shots against Quinnipiac and 11 at Albany – the two highest shot totals in the Ivy League this season. Markert's seven goals in the win vs. QU are the most by any Ivy player in 2022.
 
Keeping Goalies Busy
Yale leads the Ivy League in shots per game with 39.33, more than six shots more than any other team in the league. The Bulldogs also lead the league in shots on goal per game (28.00) and are second in the league in goals per game (14.67).
 
Hustle Stats Give Bulldogs a Possession Edge
Yale leads the Ivy League in ground balls per game (23.67, fourth in the nation) and draw controls per game (17.33, 10th in the nation). Individually, junior defender Emily Clorite (Madison, Conn.) and junior midfielder Payton Vaughn (Concord, Mass.) are tied for fifth in the league with 2.67 ground balls per game. First-year midfielder Sky Carrasquillo (Alpharetta, Ga.) leads the league in draw controls per game (6.33).
 
On The Road
Yale plays three straight games away from Reese Stadium starting Saturday. After that the Bulldogs play four straight home games.
 
Scouting Dartmouth
Dartmouth (1-1, 0-0 Ivy League) opened 2022 with an 11-3 win at New Hampshire before falling 20-3 at No. 4 Stony Brook. The Big Green was picked for third in the Ivy League preseason poll. Dartmouth shared the 2019 Ivy League Championship with Princeton and is playing its first season under new head coach Alex Frank.
