The Yale women's hockey team will open the 2022-23 season on the road for the first two games of the campaign. First, Yale will take on Harvard in its season-opener on Friday before traveling to Dartmouth on Saturday. Both contests will be live on ESPN+ and available for international viewing on Stretch Internet.
Last Meeting with Harvard
The Crimson took the last meeting between the two squads, 3-1, on Jan. 15, 2022.
Charlotte Welch scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs and
Gianna Meloni made 15 saves in the loss.
Scouting the Crimson
- The Crimson (1-1-0, 1-1-0 ECAC), who received votes in this week's USCHO poll, are coming into the matchup with two games already under their belt. After dropping its season opener to No. 7 Quinnipiac, 5-2, Harvard bounced back the next week to blank Dartmouth, 3-0.
- Anne Bloomer and Kristin Della Rovere are even with two goals each, while Bloomer has picked up two assists and Della Rovere has one game-winning goal.
- Alex Pellici has started both games for the Crimson and allowed five goals, but has posted a .936 save percentage and has one shutout.
Last Meeting with Dartmouth
The Bulldogs took the last meeting against the Big Green, 4-2.
Tess Dettling scored the eventual game-winner in the second period. The Bulldogs also received goals from
Elle Hartje,
Anna Bargman and
Greta Skarzynski, and a 23-save performance
Gianna Meloni.
Scouting the Big Green
- In their only game of the season so far, the Big Green (0-1-0, 0-1-0 ECAC) fell to Harvard on Oct. 21, 3-0. Dartmouth will play on Friday night against Brown at home before hosting the Bulldogs on Saturday.Â
- Maggie Emerson started that matchup against the Crimson and made 19 saves in the loss.
- Emerson did see 30 minutes of action in the Big Green's exhibition match against McGill and had no goals against and six saves.
- Jenna Donohue and Georgia Kraus lead the team in shots with four each, while Kenzie Bachelor and Izee Powell both have three shots each.

Following the weekend matchups against Harvard and Dartmouth, the Bulldogs are set to host No. 7 Quinnipiac for their home opener on Friday, Nov. 4 at Ingalls.
